Long bass clarinet pegs are flexible. No matter the material. I know because I've bought a lot of different types of steel, in different hardnesses and subjected them to flex testing (you can see the test here). There are differences between materials, but only small differences for a very high cost.
In the end, the most effective variable I found with these was to change the diameter of the peg.
But of course that has limitations - your bass clarinet only accepts certain diameters, meaning a step will limit how much peg you can use.
Enter the Wood & Winds Peg Sleeve. An adjustable sleeve, that moves with you, and comes off completely when you're done. It's held in place by a felt washer that holds the sleeve at the most flexible point on the peg.
The sleeve allows you to continue using the whole length of the peg without compromise.
I’m ADHD, so, in order to be productive at practice, I stand almost 100% of the time. Standing pads are a life-saver! This sleeve adds a bit more stability to the peg, which I appreciate! I’m glad I have it! :-)
