End Cap for Saxophone

Protect your saxophone octave lever from damage with a beautiful, solid wood end cap. It uses a spring loaded mechanism to fit a wide range of saxophones.
Some neck plugs are made with corks in order to fit them to the neck, but when cork grease is added, it attracts dust and potentially abrasive particles to this very critical point in your saxophones air column. Wood & Winds neck plugs are extremely versatile and go in your neck tenon dry. No shaping or special fitting necessary.
Please let me know the make and model of your saxophone when ordering. I am a full-time saxophone repairman who has access to a lot of measurements that I have accumulated over the years.

Was perfect!
I really admire the wood work and variety of finishes available for the end cap. The idea for using loaded spring tension to hold to the receiver in place is pretty cool.
I wish there were options to select what type of saxophone the end cap would be used on, as I believe it will not work universally. If there is that option, there might need to be more precise measurements made. I have a mark vi alto; the end cap fits into the receiver but with a lot of play, in other words it’s not a snug fit.
I wonder if a 360-degree loaded spring would solve this issue, as opposed to the 3 points in contact the end cap currently has.
The material is very nice, but unfortunately it is too small for my Yamaha 875 Custom.
Function: 5/5 stars. The end cap performs as expected.
Form: 0/5 stars. The maple end cap is unfinished, raw wood, and does not resemble the advertised photo of the product.
Bottom Line: 2.5/5stars. The end cap is not worth the price, but I am going to keep it and finish it myself with a mahogany wood stain.
I just recently purchased a machine set of palm key risers, side key risers, and neck plug in the purple heart wood. They are being put on my alto saxophone as we speak and I can’t wait to see them attached. Each item is beautifully crafted and I will definitely be buying a set for my tenor saxophone as well. Thanks, Michael!
